48hrs in Monte-Carlo

I’ve always been a huge fan of the French Riviera, so was incredibly excited to be heading to Monte-Carlo for a couple of days with my Mum. We were overdue a girls trip so we were eagerly awaiting lots of R&R…

After touching down in Nice, our next leg of the journey involved a ride on THIS…

The journey to Monaco was only 7 minutes (which was a shame because it was incredible..) We flew along the coast so the views were insane! Next stop was the Hotel Metropole; our home for the next two days…

When we pulled up to the hotel I could immediately see why the hotel was famed for it’s glamour . Built in a Belle Epoque style, it’s a true urban retreat right in the centre of Montecarlo.

I couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome as we checked in and headed straight up to our room. Our suite was BEAUTIFUL; the perfect mix of old and new and all designed by interior designer Jacques Garcia. We even had a little surprise waiting for us…

Once we had unpacked a little we headed to the Hotel’s Japanese restaurant Yoshi… we were lucky enough to sample a selection of dishes and each one was delicious. The restaurant also feels extremely relaxing, perfect to unwind after a long journey.

The sun was shining and the pool was calling so we headed straight to the terrace… I couldn’t have been happier as we relaxed by the pool in the sun with a glass (or two…) of rose…

After sunning ourselves, we dragged ourselves away from the pool and freshened up…

(this little number is from a brand called Sisters The Label)

It was time to feast yet again…. This time we were sampling Joel Rubuchon restaurant (also at the hotel). We sat at the chefs table so were able to spy on the chefs creating the dishes from start to finish. Before our first course we were presented with the bread selection which was VAST (I’m not sure I’d ever been this excited about bread before…)

We were lucky enough to try the 7 course menu which was absolute dream. Despite the amount of courses, the food was so delicious I couldn’t help but finish every single dish.

DAY 2

We woke feeling fresh and very ready for breakfast (yes more food). Breakfast at the Metropole is not done by halves and again the bread/Patisserie selection is INCREDIBLE…

I started with the best intentions and hit the fruit section of the buffet, but my croissant addiction soon got the better of me….

Fuelled for the day ahead, I headed over to the Givenchy Spa for my treatment. Every corner felt incredibly luxurious…

I was booked in for a Lift and Glow Facial and oh my I was in for a TREAT… This treatment is amazing for brightening the skins complexion and providing much needed hydration. It was also very very very relaxing…

Feeling rejuvenated I headed up on the terrace ‘Odyssey’ to relax (some more..) by the poolside.

And it wasn’t long before my stocked up on carbs again….

After a long lazy day by the pool, we headed back to the room, got changed and headed out into Monte-Carlo.

This (very dangerous) shopping mall is within minutes walk of the hotel, along side Monte-Carlo Casino and Cafe De Paris (where we had the yummiest dinner)

Another dreamy nights sleep at The Metropole it was unfortunately time to head home. The staff were incredibly welcoming and personal so the hotel had felt like a second home. We (reluctantly) left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and also a little bit spoilt….
