Marrakech Travel Diary

I’d wanted to visit Marrakech for YEARS so was a little over excited when Juliette and I booked a little last minute trip.

After a 4am start (in a very snowy London) we arrived at Marrakech airport very eager to get our hotel, La Mamounia. If you follow any Travel Bloggers on Instagram you have probably seen this dreamy resort pop on your news feed because it is just SO instagrammable…. and believe me it is even more beautiful in real life!

After the warmest of welcomes  we were taken straight up to our Suite and as the door opened we couldn’t help but feel a little spoilt. All of the rooms were restored by Interior Designer Jacques Garcia in 2009 and the attention to detail is absolutely amazing. I’m not surprised that the hotel has hosted international royalty as I honestly felt like a princess…

Our suite was genuinely nearly as large as my first London flat! The Executive Suites have a separate sitting area, a DRESSING ROOM, a marble bathroom and a terrace with sun beds. The rooms are as beautifully decorated as the rest of the hotel and have all the extra little luxuries to make you feel utterly spoilt (I genuinely couldn’t get over how fluffy the towels were)…

Here is a little peek!

Believe it or not we did manage to drag ourself away from our room…Here are some of our highlights of our stay at the Mammounia…

There are so many beautiful courtyards and hidden corners within the Mamounia. Each corner we turned provided another feast for the eyes and made me fall in love with the hotel a little more. I couldn’t believe the amount of detail in the both the architecture and interior design…

I mean who could resist some R&R when the Spa looks like this? This is honestly one of the most relaxing spas I’ve ever been to. Not only is it so beautiful, its also really tranquil and quiet. Perfect for switching off and having a little social media detox (after taking these snaps of course…)

If you fancy visiting or want to find out a little more visit their website here! Rates begin at £395 per room per night based on two people sharing a Hivernage Suite.
